Australian Indigenous Artists Lindsay Bird Mpetyane

Lindsay Bird Mpetyane is the nephew of the great Emily Kame Kngwarreye. Lindsay was born in 1942 at Ungoola he is a member of the Eastern Anmatyerre people. In 1975 Lindsay Bird Mpetyane and his family established their own permanent community on their traditional land close to their sacred site at Ungoola. In 1984 they moved to Mulga Bore which is a small community that pursues a semi-traditional lifestyle. As a senior Lawman, he depicts many themes of men’s law in his paintings which include the stories of Perentie Lizard, Snake, Mulga Seed, and Honey Ant.
